      Hello,
As the topic asks, what topics would you like to see and use on the site? This is an opportunity for your voices to be heard as we expand the website function.

      Thoughts?

      73,
      Michael

        Hello Dave,
I kinda thought you would like something of this nature. What are your thoughts to moderating it? 🙂

Traffic Handling. We need to get more people trained in traffic handling.

        Hello Kevin,
Thank you for your input. Traffic Handling can be covered under the Emcomm forum that was recently created.

      Greetings,

How about a topic on ARES or EmComm with sub-topics for ECs, Training, Equipment, Working with EMs, etc.

      Thanks for all the work,
      Jon KK6GXG

Oddly, the first that came to mind was an administrative section; part of the reason I thought of it is that as son as I logged in I thought “The ‘Welcome’ thread needs to be a ‘sticky topic’ at the top of the page.” These usually also seems to be a need for “How do I set up my .sig line”, or “Why does the site do this when I want it to do that?” threads.

Technical: Antennas, power, dealing with QRM and QRN, various operating modes.

      Organizational: State or section sub-fora.

      Events: Hamfests, swap meets, etc.

      Training: Classes, seminars, etc.

Those last two would overlap an EMCOMM sub-forum, but I agree that a forum for EMCOMM is needed.

        Hello,
I created an Emcomm Forum, but am holding off on Events, Hamfests, Swap meets, Training, etc. as they are covered by N7CFO through his linked website. This represents a single source solution where all items can be listed.

And I just realized there are tabs that (will) cover the sections as well…

Tracking MT section’s status. I believe we’re officially without a SM. I’d like something to subscribe to which updates progress towards getting a new one.

Here is what I received from HQ when asking about the status last month:

“Paul Stiles, KF7SOJ, of Billings, has been nominated to run for the office of Montana Section Manager.

Nominating petitions for the Montana Section Manager’s position are being re-solicited now (and the re-nomination announcement will appear in the April and the May issues of QST) since no petitions were received from Montana when the original nomination period closed on December 7, 2018.

Montana SM George Forsyth, AA7GS, has decided not to run for a new term of office. George has been Section Manager since April of 2013.

If no other nominations arrive by the June 7, 2019, receipt deadline, then Paul, KF7SOJ, would become the Section Manager as of October 1, 2019, for an 18-month term of office (versus the normal 24 month [2-year] term of office.)

If there are additional nominations to arrive at HQ by June 7, 2019, then there will be an election held this summer in Montana.”

Section Manager election ballots would be sent out to members in Montana no later than July 1, 2019. Filled-out ballots would then need be returned to ARRL Headquarters no later than August 16, 2019. Ballots would be counted on Tuesday, August 20. Then, the newly-elected Section Manager would officially begin on October 1, 2019, for an 18-month term of office.

I hope that fills you in. Check your QST magazine for the latest. If I hear anything, I’ll let you, and everybody know.

Michael; I’d like to see a forum devoted to ARRL matters. If those new posts can be automatically sent to me somehow, that would be great! Otherwise I have to log in and see if anything is new…..

Great job on this forum system. People are already using it! 🙂
