Special Bulletin: New ARRL Hamfest / Coronavirus Status Page

The following e-mail was just sent out to the ARRL Directors and Vice
Directors by Interim CEO Barry Shelly, N1VXY:

“With all the amateur radio events being cancelled due to the
coronavirus, we’ve put a mechanism in place to compile all the
information in one place. Eric Casey, our Convention and Event
Coordinator, will be posting all of the ones where we’ve received
official confirmation of cancellations to
http://www.arrl.org/hamfests/search/canceled . If you become aware of an
official cancellation, please direct that information to Eric at
hamfests@arrl.org. Eric will acknowledge each cancellation with the
event organizer, and Cc the Director and Vice Director.

In this way, we can consolidate the information and not clutter the
ARRL News feed with every hamfest and convention cancellation in the

Also, ARRL FCC Counsel, David Siddall, K3ZJ, also just posted that the
FCC will be shuttering their offices, and personnel will be
telecommuting until further notice. What affect that will have on
operations, I don’t know, but I would suspect that new licenses and
renewals may be delayed.

As far as I know, as of this moment in time, Sea-Pac, the PNW DX
Convention, and the Dayton Hamfest in Xenia, OH are still on. Sea-Pac
isn’t until June, and the PNW DX Convention is in August, hopefully
things will have settled down by then. Stay tuned for further
developments, and please stay safe!
